Services
Individual therapy for clients in California.
What I Offer
I specialize in working with intellectually curious, high-achieving adults including physicians, professors, researchers, attorneys, engineers, doctoral students, entrepreneurs, psychologists, and professionals in tech, who are looking for more than symptom management.
Many of my clients have spent years excelling in demanding academic or professional environments while privately feeling overwhelmed, isolated, or stuck.
You know how to solve difficult problems. You can analyze complex situations, anticipate challenges before they happen, and hold yourself to exceptionally high standards. Other people often rely on you because you're capable, thoughtful, and dependable.
Despite all of that, you find yourself lying awake at night questioning decisions, replaying conversations, feeling like you're never doing enough, or wondering why success hasn't brought the sense of fulfillment you expected. Perhaps you're exhausted by the constant pressure to perform, struggling with burnout, navigating ADHD or perfectionism, questioning your career, or trying to reconcile your personal values with institutions that seem increasingly disconnected from them.
My approach is collaborative, evidence-based, and deeply contextual. Rather than viewing emotional distress as something that exists solely within you, we'll explore how your experiences have been shaped by your relationships, identities, culture, work, and the systems you move through every day. Together, we'll identify patterns that no longer serve you while building practical skills that support meaningful and lasting change.

Many of the people I work with are deeply capable, thoughtful, and accomplished. They are professors, physicians, researchers, entrepreneurs, professionals, and lifelong learners who have spent years meeting expectations, solving problems, and caring for others. From the outside, things look successful, but internally, they may feel overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck, exhausted, or unsure why certain patterns keep repeating.
Individual therapy offers a space to slow down and understand what is happening beneath the surface.
Rather than focusing only on reducing symptoms, our work explores the full context of your life: your history, relationships, identity, values, environment, and the systems that have shaped your experiences. Many struggles that appear to be personal shortcomings — perfectionism, procrastination, difficulty setting boundaries, chronic stress, anxiety, self-doubt, emotional overwhelm, or feeling “different” from others — often make more sense when we understand the bigger picture.
For many high-achieving adults, therapy can be the first place where they are invited to stop performing, explain themselves, or constantly push toward the next goal. It becomes an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of who you are, how your mind works, and what you need to create a life that feels sustainable and aligned.
My approach is especially helpful for individuals navigating:
Anxiety, overthinking, and chronic worry
Perfectionism and the pressure to constantly achieve
Life transitions and questions of identity, purpose, and belonging
ADHD, neurodivergence, and understanding your unique brain
Academic and professional stress
Relationship patterns and difficulties with boundaries
Trauma, invalidation, and experiences of not feeling understood
Depression, disconnection, and loss of meaning
Cultural, identity, and systemic experiences that impact mental health
A central part of our work together may involve asking questions that are often overlooked:
What happened that shaped this pattern?
What expectations have you been carrying?
What parts of yourself have you had to suppress or adapt?
What would it look like to build a life that works with your brain, your values, and your humanity?
Therapy is not about becoming a different person. It’s about developing a more compassionate and accurate understanding of yourself so you can make intentional choices about where you want to go next.
For those who have spent years achieving, adapting, and carrying responsibility, therapy can be a place to finally understand yourself beyond what you accomplish.
-
You have always been capable.
You earned the degrees. Built the career. Met the deadlines. Solved difficult problems that other people couldn't.
From the outside, your life may look remarkably successful. Yet privately, you may wonder why it takes so much effort to keep everything together.
Perhaps you've spent years relying on adrenaline, perfectionism, or last-minute deadlines to get things done. You procrastinate on tasks you genuinely care about. Your mind feels constantly "on," making it difficult to slow down or prioritize. You lose track of conversations, forget appointments, struggle to organize your thoughts, or swing between intense hyperfocus and complete mental exhaustion.
For many high-achieving adults, these experiences are dismissed as stress, burnout, anxiety, or personality quirks.
Sometimes they are, but sometimes they reflect something deeper.
Why Assessment Matters
ADHD rarely exists in isolation.
Many of the symptoms associated with ADHD—difficulty concentrating, forgetfulness, overwhelm, emotional reactivity, restlessness, procrastination, or difficulty following through—can also be caused or amplified by anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic stress, sleep difficulties, perfectionism, or medical conditions.
Likewise, many intelligent, high-achieving adults reach adulthood without ever realizing they have ADHD because they have developed remarkable compensatory strategies. Success does not rule out ADHD. In fact, many people are able to achieve extraordinary things while simultaneously expending enormous mental effort just to keep up.
A thoughtful assessment helps answer a much more important question than "Do I have ADHD?"
It helps answer: "How does my brain work?"
Understanding your unique cognitive strengths, executive functioning, attention, emotional regulation, and psychological profile can fundamentally change how you approach work, relationships, self-care, and treatment decisions.
Whether the results ultimately point toward ADHD, anxiety, trauma, depression, executive functioning challenges, or another explanation entirely, the goal is the same: to provide clarity, not assumptions.
My Approach
As a licensed clinical psychologist, researcher, and academic, I approach assessment through both a scientific and deeply human lens.
Rather than relying solely on symptom checklists, I integrate clinical interviewing, standardized psychological measures, cognitive and executive functioning assessment, developmental history, and careful differential diagnosis to understand the whole person.
My goal is not simply to determine whether you meet criteria for a diagnosis. It is to understand the patterns that have shaped your experiences, identify both strengths and challenges, and provide practical recommendations that can meaningfully improve your daily life.
Clients frequently tell me that the assessment process helps them understand themselves in ways they never have before—regardless of whether they ultimately receive an ADHD diagnosis.
What’s Included
Your comprehensive evaluation includes:
A detailed clinical interview and developmental history
Approximately 3–4 hours of individualized psychological testing
Administration and interpretation of standardized assessment measures
Clear insights into your cognitive and psychological functioning
Differential diagnosis to evaluate ADHD alongside anxiety, depression, trauma, learning differences, and other conditions that may contribute to attention and executive functioning difficulties
A comprehensive written report integrating findings, diagnoses (when appropriate), and individualized recommendations
A 60-minute feedback session to review results, answer questions, and discuss next steps
The written report is designed to be clinically meaningful and practically useful, whether you plan to pursue therapy, medication consultation, academic or workplace accommodations, or simply gain a deeper understanding of yourself.
Investment:
A comprehensive evaluation is an investment in understanding yourself more fully.
The total fee is $4,500, which includes the clinical interview, psychological testing, scoring and interpretation of assessment measures, preparation of an individualized comprehensive report, and a personalized feedback session.
Because every evaluation is completed personally by me—from the initial interview through interpretation and report writing—you receive an assessment that is individualized, evidence-based, and designed to provide lasting value beyond a diagnosis.
While I do not participate with insurance, many clients choose to submit a superbill to their insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. While reimbursement varies depending on your individual plan, out-of-network benefits can often offer up to 80% coverage.
-
I am considered an out of network provider with insurance.
Most PPO plans cover up to 80% of session costs. You can call your insurance company to ask about your benefits for therapy. I am happy to provide you with a receipt (“superbill”) that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. I recommend asking your insurance company the following questions:
What are my benefits for therapy/mental health services?
Do you offer reimbursement for out-of-network providers?
What is the reimbursement rate for an out-of-network Ph.D. level clinician?
Would I have a deductible? If so, how much have I already met?
Is there a session limit per calendar year?
Therapy Rate: $385/session
ADHD Assessment Rate: $4,500
